Today, we lost on the House floor.

Progressives fought for an amendment that would have cut defense spending by 10% – reallocating those funds to important priorities like education, health care, COVID-19 response, and more. It received 93 votes, and failed.

But even in defeat, this was a critical step on the road to dismantling the military industrial complex and finally ending our endless wars. This is the most support a bill cutting defense spending has seen in decades. It’s proof that our work is having a real impact.

Sometimes, our bills don’t pass. We don’t win every fight. But together, we are pushing the needle further towards justice every single day. Can we count on you to invest in our progressive movement and fight for international peace with a contribution?

Every year, our nation spends hundreds of billions of dollars on our military. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress fight against extending unemployment benefits or distributing stimulus checks to working families in the name of fiscal responsibility.

Our priorities are wrong. Funding bombs and tanks while millions of Americans miss their rent and mortgage payments betrays our common humanity. And as we speak out against that legislative injustice, we gather momentum towards correcting it.

We will lose dozens of times before we finally defeat the military industrial complex. Will you contribute to help us build a progressive movement that will stay in the fight, stand together, and advocate for the ideals of peace?

Thanks for your support,
