Friend — After the last month, it shouldn’t surprise you that Trump attacked me with personal insults and threats to deport me once again this weekend.

JD Vance joined the fray this time too, referring to Minneapolis as “Mogadishu” in a racist joke for his far-right buddies.

Randy Fine added his two cents on the right-wing TV channel NewsMax, saying that I “shouldn’t be an American” and that Somali-Americans “need to go home, starting with her.”

If you’re fed up with all of this MAGA cruelty chip in $10 to my campaign. Let me explain.

Trump and his allies lash out at me because they need a scapegoat. They need a distraction to direct attention away from their failures.

They tell hardworking Americans that the reason they can’t get ahead is because of immigrants and Somali people.

That’s a much easier sell than explaining to your supporters that you are kicking them off their healthcare, skyrocketing the cost of living, slashing their food assistance, and lining the pockets of billionaires at their expense.

But rhetoric eventually meets reality. Nobody thinks about Somali-Americans when they see their energy bill has doubled due to Trump’s AI data center expansions. Nobody is going to think of my name when they see their insurance premium double after the GOP’s budget cuts, and have to decide to go uninsured.

Americans are smart enough to know when the President is screwing them over.

It’s our job and the job of this entire progressive movement to continue to push people toward that fundamental truth, and rally behind a positive message for an affordable America where immigrants are recognized for their contributions to our prosperity, not scapegoated.
