If your inbox is anything like mine, it feels like a constant barrage of emails from campaigns to sort through. A lot of them with such extreme and exaggerated language that it raises your blood pressure.

It’s hard to separate the noise from the truth. What’s really worth investing your time and treasure in?

That’s why it’s important to me that we approach this campaign differently. Yes, we have to raise money. Yes, that requires sending more emails and texts than I would like to.

But we’re never going to do what so many other politicians do — like send you five emails a day or lie to you about the “sky falling” constantly.

You’ll never see us do a “triple match” (those are fake) or try to scam you into donating. If you’ve seen campaigns talk about “mid-month” or “daily” deadlines…yeah, we won’t do that either. Those are also made up by DC consultants to create fake urgency.

But when it’s urgent, like it is right now with our FEC deadline coming up, I’m going to be honest with you about what we need to reach our fundraising goals and win this race.

A lot of candidates raise a lot of money from corporate PACs. But I refuse to sell out my values to win a campaign. I’m proud to be the only candidate in this race rejecting corporate PAC money.

But I know that taking on the billionaires and corporations who buy politicians comes with a big risk. It puts a target on our campaign.

They are spending tens of millions already to fund our opponents. There’s no limit to what they are willing to spend to stop us next November.

My bet is that doing this the right way makes a difference. We can prove there’s a better model — one that wins in Texas.
