Dear FAMMily,
This time of year always brings my thoughts back to the mixed emotions the holidays can bring. At a recent FAMMily call, our community supported each other by sharing the things that bring them pain and joy this time of year.
My heart won't forget the holidays my husband was separated from our children and me. That time has marked us forever. My family and friends are still impacted by unjust sentences. So many of us are waiting, hoping, and fighting for the day our families can be whole again.
I also believe that we have to find moments of joy, wherever we are in our journey. I am fortunate that this holiday season holds our reunion at the same time we hold grief. During our time apart, my family found joy through visits, calls, and the love we shared through the walls. The future we are fighting for has loved ones finally gathered around the same table or standing side by side in their kitchen, cooking together after years apart. It's possible because of supporters like you.
Whatever your reality this season, please know this: We see you. We hold the joy and pain with you. And we will not stop fighting for families like yours.
Wishing you moments of peace and hope this holiday season.
Happy Holidays from all of us at FAMM,
