1) Christmas Came In July

Today's blockbuster GDP report should serve as a strong reminder that this year's biggest present to the American people came back in July when President Trump and Republicans in Congress passed the Big Beautiful Tax Bill.   Every single House and Senate Democrat voted repeatedly to let all of the Trump tax cuts expire, which would have raised taxes on the middle class by about $1,500 per household next year.

Gee, snatching more money out of worker paychecks would have helped with the "affordability crisis."

Here are some of the tax hikes that would have been arriving on January 1 if they got their way:

• The standard deduction would have been cut in half, raising taxes and forcing millions of taxpayers to itemize.

• Tax rates would have spiked, with every rate rising and the top rate jumping from 37% to 39.6%.

• Unlimited SALT deductions would have come back, a huge giveaway to the wealthy in high-tax states.

• The Child Tax Credit would have been slashed from $2,000 to $1,000.

• Small business taxes would have soared from 29.6% to 39.6%.

• The AMT and death tax would have snapped back to pre-2017 exemption levels, ensnaring millions of families.

The Tax Foundation shows that all income-groups benefited:

Everyone got a tax cut. And the Left wanted everyone to get a tax hike.

2) USA at 250: 4% of Global Population; 25% of Global Output: Nearly Half of All Wealth

The three charts below demonstrate the amazing feat that American workers and businesses are roughly SIX TIMES more productive than the average workers of the world.  Wow!

But that's not all: Americans have almost half (47%) of global financial wealth.

3) Yale's Got A Diversity Crisis: Zero Republican Faculty In Most Departments

The Buckley Institute has the numbers. Most incredible is the finding that over 60% (27 of 43) of undergraduate departments have exactly zero Republican faculty members.

This year, the Buckley Institute built on the progress of last year's effort and examined the political leanings of 1,666 faculty members across all 43 undergraduate degree-granting departments, as well as the law school and school of management.

The Buckley Institute's research found that in undergraduate departments and the law and management schools, 82.3% of faculty are registered Democrats or primarily support Democratic candidates. By contrast, only 15.4% are independent and 2.3% are Republicans. 27 of 43 undergraduate departments had no Republicans at all.

4) Britain To Ban Boiling Lobsters And Crabs

As the British economy continues to wallow in the muck of slow growth and free speech has been thrown out the window, the ruling Labour Party has made it a top priority to prohibit boiling live lobsters. Is killing a lobster before boiling it somehow more humane?  We don't quite get it.  

It's just another little sign that the Brits desperately need a Trumpian, power-to-the-people regime change.

5) Who Do the Obamacare Subsidies Subsidize?

Here's something that Republicans should be shouting from the rafters as Congress decides early next year whether to further throw hundreds of billions more dollars into the calamity called Obamacare.

Two-thirds of the "Affordable Care Act" subsidies don't even go to the patients. Most of the money goes to the profits of the insurance companies or is simply wasted in deadweight losses.
