Dear Friend,
I’m Al — a former client of Immigration Equality.
This year’s theme, “30 Years of Resilience,” means something very real to me. Resilience isn’t just about surviving. It’s about being seen. It’s about finding people who fight for you until you can fight for yourself.
That’s what Immigration Equality did for me.
When I showed up at their office years ago, I carried fear, hope, and a belief that maybe I could build a life where I didn’t have to hide who I was. What I found was a team who treated me with dignity, respect, and compassion. That changed everything.
Today, I am a U.S. citizen. I run a business I love, and I live openly as a queer, nonbinary person who gives back to the community that helped me stand up again.
If you want to hear more about my journey, you can watch my video and support Immigration Equality’s work below.
Thank you for your generosity.
With love,
Al
