![]() John, After a decade leading Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, I am stepping down in January to transition to a new role in the ethics field. CREW Executive Director and Chief Counsel Donald K. Sherman will serve as interim president. It has been the honor of my life to lead CREW, and I am so thankful for this team and your continued support in our fight for an ethical and accountable government. Over the last 10 years, CREW has grown in size and impact, from our pioneering legal work to enforce the Constitution's Emoluments and Disqualification Clauses, to driving public opinion to focus on fighting corruption and preserving democracy. I could not be prouder of all we have accomplished and everything we have done to fight for an ethical democracy together. And we have done it at a time when that very notion is under attack perhaps more than ever before in our nation’s history. While it is incredibly hard to step away from an organization and staff I love, I do so knowing it is in good hands, as is the future of the fight to secure government ethics in this country, with Donald and CREW’s incredible staff and leadership team carrying the work forward. You will hear more from Donald over the coming weeks about the work ahead for CREW and our continuing fights for a better government. For years, Donald has served key roles at CREW leading our legal team, developing our overall strategy, filing numerous successful complaints and testifying before Congress. I have nothing but confidence in his leadership and look forward to cheering CREW on as a supporter—just like all of you. Thank you for your support over all of these years. We could not have gotten here without you. Sincerely, Noah Bookbinder
