Census Bureau Releases International Population Estimates and Projections [ [link removed] ]

The Census Bureau recently released new population estimates, projections and other demographic data up to the year 2100 for 21 countries and areas in the International Database.

New data and analyses were used to refine population estimates and projections for Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, El Salvador, Eswatini, Guatemala, Iran, Jamaica, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Togo, Tunisia, the United States, and Zambia.

2024 American Community Survey 1-Year Public Use Microdata Sample 

The 2024 American Community Survey 1-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files are now available on the ACS website, the FTP site, and in the microdata analysis tool on data.census.gov.

Supporting documentation such as the PUMS User Guide, Accuracy of the PUMS, and PUMS Estimates for User Verification are also available.

Families and Living Arrangements

Recently released estimates from the historical America’s Families and Living Arrangements tables show that fewer than half (47%) of U.S. households in 2025 were married couples — a significant shift from 50 years earlier, when nearly two-thirds (66%) were.

Women's Living Arrangements at First Birth

A larger share of women had their first child while living with an unmarried partner in the early 2020s than in the early 1990s, according to the recent Women’s Living Arrangements at First Birth report released by the Census Bureau.
