Fighting along the Thailand–Cambodia border continues, and more families are arriving daily at displacement sites where Health Poverty Action is supporting frontline medical care. Many are fleeing with only what they can carry, arriving exhausted, with children and elderly family members in urgent need of assistance.

While authorities are still assessing the scale of displacement, the situation on the ground is deteriorating rapidly. According to one of our frontline doctors working in Malai district:

“Our drinking water will only last for two days. We are very far from markets, and more people are fleeing here every day.
We have to use water bucket to collect water from ponds and swamps, leave it under the sun to reduce bacteria, and hope it is safe enough to drink.”

Access constraints mean supplies are limited, and doctors remain focused on emergency care, leaving little time for detailed reporting. What is clear is that safe water, food, basic shelter, medicines and protection from mosquito-borne disease are urgently needed.

• £5 could provide clean clothing or a water bucket for a displaced family
• £10 could help supply baby formula or basic medicines for children
• £20 could provide mosquito nets, blankets or hygiene items to reduce disease risk

Funds raised will be used to respond to priority needs identified by our doctors and local partners, including:

• Safe drinking water and water storage
• Emergency food supplies and infant nutrition
• Essential medicines and first aid
• Mosquito nets and repellents to reduce dengue and malaria risk
• Basic shelter and household items for families arriving with nothing
