2025 comes to an end, I look back on a year of both extraordinary challenges and extraordinary resilience at Egale Canada. Across Canada and internationally, we saw anti-2SLGBTQI hate intensified through misinformation and harmful policies, yet we also witnessed remarkable strength, solidarity, and progress.
Thanks to your support, Egale continued to lead with purpose, expand our impact, and drive forward the work needed to protect and uplift 2SLGBTQI communities everywhere. | | | | Through our REAL pillars – Research, Education, Awareness, and Legal Advocacy, we were able to achieve an extraordinary year of impact, including:
- Publishing 10 research reports, literature reviews, and fact sheets, and collaborating with 22 academic partners, with 4 ongoing research projects in the next year and beyond.
- Engaging 2,407 workplace inclusion participants and 3,261 inclusive school participants and reaching
26,000+ individuals through our Rainbow Action Hub, offering accessible tools to counter mis-, dis-, and malinformation.
- Reaching 8M+ people on social media, showcasing 11 awareness campaigns, and offering 28,000+ resource downloads in a collective effort to advance inclusion across Canada.
- Initiating 3 new legal cases, and received decisions on 5 additional cases, including scoring 2 major victories in our continued commitment to protecting rights and confronting anti-2SLGBTQI hate across the country.
- Internationally, we expanded our global reach, engaging partners in over 20 countries and participated in 7 international convenings.
