It's unbelievable -- Friend .
Today we've witnessed another chapter in the dark money saga that
is HB6. The U.S. Attorney David DeVillers
is calling it "likely the largest money
laundering scheme ever perpetrated against the people of the state of
Ohio."
This morning's arrest of Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and four other
individuals who are all charged in a federal public corruption
racketeering conspiracy involving $60 million is the best news for
consumers all year.
Bribery. Plain and Simple.
Government accountability is a big part of our mission at Ohio
Citizen Action. We always put legislation through the "smell test" and
HB 6 stank all the way through.
FirstEnergy is not named specifically yet, but there is an entity
known as "Company A" who funneled money through Generation Now, a
"charitable" organization you might recall from all of those TV
commercials.
Bribery and greed must not be rewarded. This
corruption at the statehouse invalidates the legislature’s vote on the
bailout.
We call upon the Ohio General Assembly to repeal this HB6
and for Governor DeWine to support its rollback.
This case is not over by long shot with the arrests today.
FBI agents are knocking on a lot of doors, serving a lot of subpoenas,
feds still tracing money, DeVillers says
Please help with a contribution of any size to keep our government
accountability work going strong.
Thank you to all of you who supported us
during the HB6 campaign and stood up for justice.
