In Charles Dickens' story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the ghost of Jacob Marley
forces Scrooge to confront a lifetime of indifference to the struggles of
others, and to reckon with a haunting question: "Why did I walk through

in Congress adjourned – and Congress officially headed home for their

Unless Republican leaders in Congress have a change of heart like Scrooge
and passes a retroactive fix the moment they return in January, the impact

Sticker Shock: Families will see their health care costs more than
double—an average increase of $1,016 per person.

* The "Tiny Tims" are at risk: Over a million children gained coverage
because of these credits. Without them, parents will be forced to choose
between medicine for their kids and putting food on the table.

* Billionaires over Families: While the administration focuses on tax
breaks for the ultra-wealthy, 20 million hardworking "fellow-beings" are
being left to bear the brunt of skyrocketing costs.
