I don’t need to tell you that 2025 has been a tough year (that’s an understatement). 

My first year in Congress was one of the wildest and strangest in American history. But the active, consistent engagement from supporters like you was a bright spot.

Whether you came to town halls, responded to surveys, or replied to emails like this one, you truly embodied the saying: “Democracy is not a spectator sport.”

As we close out the year, here are a few of my hopes for 2026:

🌟 We will end the GOP healthcare crisis and bring down health insurance premiums for millions of Americans.

🌟 My Republican colleagues will start acting like the Republicans I grew up with – committed to the Constitution, not any one person.

🌟 We will elect a new generation of Democratic leaders: folks like Jo Mendoza, Manny Rutinel, Marni von Wilpert, Denise Powell – and maybe even a Democrat in the Yakima Valley!

🌟 My neighbors will be safe from ICE abuses, and every person in the Northwest Detention Center will be treated with respect and dignity. 

🌟 And of course, in November 2026, we will take back the House, replace Speaker Mike Johnson, and get to work for working people. (That includes campaign finance reform!)
