As we sit in this season of rest and reflection, I hope each and every one of you are able to take some cherished time with the people who bring you joy and peace. These moments with family, friends, and community remind us why we continue fighting for a County -- and a country -- where everyone is safe, valued, and able to thrive.

Happy Holidays, Friend.

As we sit in this season of rest and reflection, I hope each and every one of you is able to take some cherished time with the people who bring you joy and peace. These moments with family, friends, and community remind us why we continue fighting for a County -- and a country -- where everyone is safe, valued, and able to thrive.

I know the world feels heavy right now.

But even though the future is uncertain, I have hope. Our community lives in compassion, resilience, and commitment to care for one another, no matter what happens in Washington, DC.

So while I am spending this time with my family and enjoying the moment, I am also considering what 2026 may bring. The work in front of us will demand grace, courage, and empathy. And I have hope because I know we have all that and more.

Our future will be shaped by the people who show up for one another, who believe in justice, and who will put in the work to keep building toward something better.

None of us can do that alone, or without refueling our hope and joy by surrounding ourselves with the people worth fighting for.

So please take these calm moments in. Please hold your loved ones close, and store the happy memories for motivation on hard days.

We’ll continue this work together in the new year.

With gratitude, love, and warm holiday wishes,

— Monica Montgomery Steppe
