Herbert,
President Trump says affordability is a hoax.
But if your family is anything like mine, you know the truth: prices keep rising—especially during the busy holiday season.
Across the country, families are paying more for gifts, groceries, and travel as inflation drags on and Trump’s tariffs drive up the cost of imported goods. The squeeze is real.
According to Bankrate’s annual holiday spending report:
- 78% of holiday staples cost more this year
- 28% of holiday shoppers say they may take on debt just to afford their purchases
- Only 21% of adults plan to fly or stay in a hotel this holiday season
While President Trump drapes the Oval Office in gold, working families are making painful tradeoffs.
All year long, I’ve pushed Congressional leadership to bring practical, commonsense legislation to the floor to lower costs for families. Instead, my calls went unanswered. Just last week, Speaker Johnson sent Congress home early—without lifting a finger to stop soaring health care costs for millions of Americans.
I refuse to accept that this is the best we can do.
I’m committed to fighting for affordability, accountability, and an economy that works for everyone—not just those at the top. But I can’t do it alone.
Will you chip in today to help fuel our fight in the new year?
Together, we can demand better—and deliver it.
