Tickling the ivories

I’ve been listening to a lot of Springsteen lately, and it’s putting me in a reflective mood. The stories he tells through song are powerful and honest and so quintessentially American. They remind me of what I love about this country, that renegade spirit that shines even at the darkest of times.

Kids today may call it “Dad rock,” but I believe Springsteen is for all ages. I hope you don’t mind a few references sprinkled throughout this email.

If you can, I hope you’ll stick around. If not, pitch in $25 before you go. Your support will give a much-needed energy boost to my End-of-Year fundraising so I can defend my House seat in 2026.

The last 356 days haven’t exactly been Glory Days for this great country, but in the Real World, you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Now each of us is here: weary, but wiser, with a Hungry Heart for change.

From the Streets of Philadelphia to the Badlands to My Hometown (I grew up in New York, but my heart is in Chicago), people are beginning to rise up. We have the power to make 2026 the year of revival after a rock-bottom 2025 for our party and our country. With enough momentum behind us, nobody — not Donald Trump, the Not-So-Supreme Court, or MAGA Mike Johnson — can stop this Downbound Train.

Fueling this fire ain’t cheap. The GOP has enough Easy Money to float them through the next century. Democrats have a lot of catching up to do if we’re going to sweep the nation in 2026.

My FEC End-of-Year finance report is a megaphone. It’s a billboard. It’s a chance to show the world (and the GOP) that we’re Tougher Than The Rest, and when it comes to defending American values, there will be No Surrender.

Will you Cover Me by making a contribution of any amount towards my critical End-of-Year fundraising goal? Every dollar = defending this district = a shot at flipping the House next November.
