Imagine going to a doctor’s office and being denied care because you are a woman, disabled, or LGBTQ. In Donald Trump’s America, that could become a reality.
Here’s how: The Trump administration is quietly trying to roll back Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act — the provision in the law that prohibits discrimination in healthcare based on gender, race, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
Yesterday, Xavier sued to stop this rollback and he needs you with him:
July 20, 2020
“The administration's rule, released in June, will roll back implementation of the Affordable Care Act's Section 1557, which prohibits federally funded health programs and facilities from discriminating against patients based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age.”

It’s hard to believe any President would willingly expose Americans to discrimination in healthcare. But that’s what President Trump’s latest rollback would do.
Too many Americans already struggle to access essential care. We don’t need discrimination to make it worse. That’s why Xavier is suing Trump to stop this attack, in addition to his separate lawsuit defending the entire Affordable Care Act.
If you’re with us in this fight, will you add your name to our petition, team? Let’s show Trump and Republicans that this rollback won’t be tolerated:
Thank you,
Team Becerra
