Dear John,

We always like to hear and share different perspectives on poverty and social justice issues, so we are emailing today to share three recent blog posts on our website.

1 - A new take on rural poverty

Truro Diocese has been involved in some pioneering new work around rural poverty. How should churches, dioceses and Government respond? Paul Phillips from the diocese explores the issue here:

2 - New calls to improve funeral support

Some years ago, we were involved in work around the high costs of funerals, which was adding to many people’s poverty at the worst possible time. Quaker Social Action has launched a renewed effort, and Lindesay Mace has been outlining the campaign and its aims.

3 - Faith In The City: why it still matters, 40 years on

Author Joseph Forde has co-edited a collection of essays, reflecting on the 40th anniversary of the landmark Faith In The City report, which greatly influenced church approaches to poverty. Read Joseph’s article on why the report is still important today:

This will be our final email of 2025, so can we also take this chance to wish you a peaceful and joyful Christmas!

Best wishes
