My name is Dr. Kellie Snooks. I’m a pediatric intensive care unit doctor here in Wisconsin. Every week, my colleagues and I care for children whose lives have been forever changed by gun violence. I have delivered unthinkable news to sobbing parents.

Families who should be planning birthday parties are suddenly grappling with trauma that no parent should ever face. And while we work tirelessly to heal their bodies, the emotional scars run painfully deep.
