The truth is, I haven’t always been a runner. But the story of how I got into it starts with my campaign for State Senate back in 2020. If you had asked me then, I wouldn't have considered myself a runner – and certainly not someone who could finish a 5K strong enough to beat anyone.

But here’s the thing: I don’t back down from a challenge. And when I run, I run to win.

No one expected me to win my first race for State Senate. I was facing tough odds in a Republican district. But I got to work and knocked on thousands of doors in my community, genuinely connected with my neighbors, and built a grassroots network that carried me across the finish line.

So when I heard that my opponent was walking a 5k? Well, I laced up my sneakers and trained for two months so I could run it. And I’ve been running ever since.

I’m willing to put in the work to be competitive. It’s how I won my last two races in a district Trump carried, and it’s how I’m going to win this campaign, too.
