December 21, 2025

Dear Georgian,

Democrats continue to demand 35 billion in covid era subsidies be paid on a yearly basis directly to the health insurance companies, with no other changes to the law that would actually help the people covered under the Affordable Care Act as well as those paying for their insurance. For the record, the revenue of just the three largest companies that receive those subsidies for 2024 was almost $1.1 trillion, yes that is with a T. Giving them another $35 billion is not going to help anyone but them.

Last week, House Republicans passed the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, with my support. If enacted by the Senate, this bill will lower premium cost by 11% while also reducing out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and co-pays. Importantly, these changes would benefit all Americans.

Specifically, this bill would provide Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) transparency, remove hidden costs of prescription drugs, and provide more choices for employees to customize their health care plans.

Additionally, it would allow small business owners and independent workers to form association health plans and protect small businesses from costly regulatory overreach – allowing them to provide quality health care benefits for employees that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to offer.

Our country’s health care system is broken and needs to be overhauled. While these changes are a great start, work remains to increase competition in the marketplace and eliminate PBMs to lower drug costs. We must do everything we can to provide more affordable, higher quality health care.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. Preventing Dangerous Criminals from Crossing the Border

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4371, the Kayla Hamilton Act with my support.

The bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), for children 12 years of age and older, to request the criminal records of unaccompanied alien children (UACs) from their home country and determine if they have gang tattoos. UACs determined to have gang tattoos or a criminal history relating to gang activity or affiliation would not be released to a sponsor but instead placed in a secure facility.

We will continue our work to fix the country’s broken immigration system and prevent tragedies like the murder of Kayla Hamilton.

Defending America's Youth

On Wednesday, House Republicans passed the Protect Children's Innocence Act with my support. This bill would prohibit doctors from performing genital or bodily mutilation or chemical castration procedures on minors.

This bill is common sense. These are children we are talking about, and they deserve our protection.

Discussing harmful Pharmacy Benefit Managers

Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) are a bad actor in our health care system that are vertically integrated with big insurance companies. During a House Rules Committee hearing last week, I spoke about how the House of Representatives can address these bad actors.

Our very own Worth County Rams brought home the GHSA Class A Division 1 state championship last week! After defeating the defending champs, Toombs County, Worth County earned their first state championship since 1987.

Congratulations to Head Coach Jeff Hammond, the entire team, and community!

Worth County wins first state championship since 1987

Worth County defeated defending state champion Toombs County to win the Class A Division I state championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, completing the program’s first undefeated season.

The Rams trailed 13-10 at halftime before rallying in the second half to secure their first state title since 1990 and first appearance in the championship game in more than 30 years.

Second-half comeback seals victory
Worth County’s defense dominated the second half after allowing 13 first-half points. The team forced one turnover and prevented Toombs County from scoring in the final two quarters.

Jayden Farley scored the first touchdown of the second half for Worth County. The Rams’ defense improved their tackling and limited big plays by the defending champions.

“It’s amazing. I can’t put in the words. I’ve got unbelievable players. I’ve got an unbelievable fan base,” Worth County Head Coach Jeff Hammond said. “All I ever want to do is to represent them and make them proud. And this shows we can.”

Four-year journey complete
Hammond said the senior class was his first group when he arrived at Worth County four years ago. He told them in their first meeting they would make the playoffs, win the region and win a state championship. “It took us four years and they made it happen.”

Worth County finished the season undefeated and will move to a new region next season. The victory marks the program’s return to prominence after decades without a state championship appearance.
