John,

We’re so excited to finally share this event with you:

Friday, July 24 at 7 pm EST

Join us for a free screening of the Oscar-nominated short documentary, St. Louis Superman followed by a panel discussion featuring a powerful bunch.

RSVP

Here’s a breakdown of how the night will go:

First, we’ll view St. Louis Superman, which follows former St. Louis State Rep, and current GP #Fight4AFuture consultant, Bruce Franks Jr.’s path into activism after the murder of Michael Brown by police in 2014. The film illustrates his time in office, his journey to the seat, and the overall impact on his mental health.

After the screening, we’ll be joined by our esteemed panelists:

  • Kayla Reed, Action STL executive director and leader in the Movement for Black Lives
  • Maya Rupert, political strategist and writer, former Julián Castro campaign manager
  • Bruce Franks Jr., battle-rapper, former Missouri state representative, community activist, and star of St. Louis Superman
  • Dometi Pongo (panel moderator), award-winning journalist, MTV News host, and host of MTV's True Life Crime

RSVP now and let us know you’ll be joining us, then share it with 5 friends.

As you know, gun violence disproportionately impacts Black families and communities.

Young people are the future: we’re seizing power and becoming activists.

Which means it’s up to us to demand more from the national discussion on gun violence prevention, to uplift the ways racial justice solutions are needed here, and ensure the movement, and our work within it result in tangible changes—both or our generation and those to come.

Help us capture the momentum that has empowered young people all across the country, that young people have been building upon for years.

This panel will give you an opportunity to have some powerful truths in your back pocket.

Which means we’ve got to spread the word.

RSVP now to save your spot, (virtually) grab a friend, and we’ll see you in less than a week for this incredible event!

See you there,
