Team,
As a country we all feel the loss of Congressman John Lewis.
He was the moral compass of the Congress, and he gained that clarity from a life spent fighting for justice. Rep. Lewis put his life on the line for our fundamental freedoms. As the chair of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), he helped organize the marches from Montgomery to Selma to demand voting rights for Black Americans. He then worked tirelessly to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and he spent his decades in public service protecting voting rights for Americans.
More than anyone, he fought against the rollback of rights we've seen across the country, and I am proud to have voted with him to pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act back in December. But the bill has been sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk since then.
McConnell had the gall to tweet about his respect for Rep. Lewis, but I believe the only way to honor his legacy is with action. That's why I'm collecting thousands of grassroots signatures to tell Mitch McConnell to call for a vote.
Join me in calling on Mitch McConnell to immediately bring the Voting Rights Advancement Act to a vote.

All around the country voting rights are under attack. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, some states are doubling down on their efforts to make it more difficult for people to vote. We owe it to John Lewis to carry his legacy forward, and the first step is guaranteeing the right to vote to every American.
Add your name now to tell Mitch McConnell to call the Voting Rights Advancement Act to a vote.
