Friend,
After our recent decisive victories in Florida and Texas, we’re so excited to share another huge win for nurses and our patients — this time at Sutter CPMC Davies in San Francisco! 🎉👏👏
Sutter CPMC Davies nurses have voted to join California Nurses Association! Until this week, CPMC Davies was the last non-union hospital in San Francisco, and with this vote to unionize, we’re proud to say that San Francisco is a union town through and through! This is a huge step forward for patient care in our community.
Celebrating each victory union nurses secure is an important way for us to demonstrate what’s possible when nurses work together to grow our movement for patient care over profits. Can you share our post celebrating Sutter CPMC Davies nurses and our union now?
CPMC Davies nurses are joining the more than 8,000 Sutter Health RNs who have already joined CNA and formed their unions. We’ll have the protection we need to demand much-needed improvements to patient care, from enforceable, safe nurse-to-patient ratios to a fair and transparent wage system to improve recruitment and retention. And because of our new union, we can safely advocate for these important resources and more without fear of retaliation from our corporate health care employer, Sutter Health.
This is all possible because of the solidarity and organizing of CPMC Davies nurses who wanted to protect our community hospital and our patients and keep nurses at the bedside where we belong. Every nurse at every facility deserves that chance!
Forming a union is a critical first step to get just that, Friend. With
CNA, CPMC Davies RNs can now negotiate a legally binding contract and gain tools that will protect what we have and improve our working conditions, pay, and benefits.
Nurses will always advocate for our patients, but support from our community is critical to our continued success. Please click below to share our victory with your network and help grow our movement for a higher standard of patient care!
We’re so excited to secure safe, therapeutic care for our patients and a better working environment at Sutter CPMC Davies. Thank you so much for standing with us!
In solidarity,
National Nurses United
