That was the day I was first elected to Congress, and the day Democrats took back the House in a historic Blue Wave. (Ok fine, it was actually a few weeks later that my race was called, but you get the picture). I remember feeling so excited, hopeful, and optimistic about the future.
The people fought back, and we won.
Now think about November 5, 2024. The day Donald Trump won last year and took full control of Washington. It felt scary. Empty. Hopeless.
As we look ahead to the 2026 election, I think it’s important to remember those feelings. Because if we want another Blue Wave, we cannot wait to get our message out. We have to start reaching voters now.
