john, Kim has always been outspoken about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Point blank: He's unqualified and dangerous as head of the Health and Human Services Department. Kim knows it—and she's making sure the American people know exactly what kind of danger he's putting our children in.
Recently, Kim went on Morning Joe to discuss RFK Jr.'s plan to remove the requirement for newborns to receive the Hepatitis B shot within 24 hours of birth. He is using misinformation and conspiracy theories to justify his decision, but Kim spoke the truth: This decision is outrageous.
The Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices has required the Hepatitis B vaccine be given to children within the first 24 hours since 1991. Since then, severe infections of the disease have decreased by 99%. This vaccine works, and there are decades worth of data to prove that it is safe, effective, and necessary for our kids.
These changes in vaccine schedules aren't protecting our kids—they are just causing mass confusion among new parents who are already overwhelmed with their new normal as a family. For decades, parents have been given information on vaccinations for their newborns that have been based on scientific research and testing. As a pediatrician, Kim has relayed this information to new parents as they navigate how to protect their children from harmful diseases. But now, parents are having to choose between new recommendations that are based on misinformation and conspiracy theories, leaving their children vulnerable to harmful and sometimes deadly diseases.
On Morning Joe, Kim talked about how heartbreaking it is for parents who are overwhelmed, confused, and trying to navigate a flood of misinformation. She made it clear that if this continues, fewer kids will get vaccinated— and children will die. But let's be clear: Vaccines are safe. They save lives, and families should trust their own pediatricians, not conspiracy theorists with zero medical background.
Now more than ever, we need leaders who stand firmly with science, tell the truth, and put children's health above politics, every single time. Kim has been that voice in Congress, and she needs us with her. If you believe the health of children is non-negotiable, then chip in $5, or anything you can today, to help us keep Kim’s voice in Congress. >> [link removed]
