Now looky here, John – If I've learned anything over my more than half-century in Democratic politics, it's that we cannot afford to take any state for granted. Especially not the ones we think are "safe." That's why if you've been sleeping on Michael Bennet's campaign for governor out in Colorado, I'm going to need you to WAKE THE HELL UP – because we're only hours away from his midnight goal, and he's on track to fall short.
Now you'll have to pardon my French, but I'm scared sh*tless Democrats just don't get how bad we need to gin up grassroots resources to fight in Colorado. 'Cause right now, big-time Republicans like Trump and Lauren Boebert are already putting their thumb on the scales of this race. And even though you and I know they're really the ones to blame for housing and health care soaring out of reach for regular folks, mark my words: They'll do anything, say anything and spend anything if it makes voters blame Democrats like Michael for the outcomes of their bat-sh*t policies. I know Michael Bennet is the right person for the job. That’s why I was proud to endorse him for president. But without the funds to reach every single voter, from the Denver suburbs to the most remote mountain communities, the GOP will beat us to the punch. They will flood the airwaves with millions in attack ads to ensure this movement sinks. And we will NOT have the resources to fight back.
We'll sleep when we're dead, because NOW is Colorado's best chance to provide the vision this country desperately needs – as long as Michael can count on you as a part of this team. James Carville  |
