John, as a teacher, lawyer, and public servant, I’ve spent my career fighting for what’s right and standing up for working families in Michigan and across the country.

Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about current member of Congress.

Republican John James hasn’t shown up for this district.

He's attacked Social Security. He's voted to gut Medicare. And most recently, he and his Republican colleagues have opted to SHUT DOWN the government rather than address the health care crisis they've caused.

I stepped up and decided to run for Congress because I believe Michigan’s best days can be ahead — and I can't sit idly by and watch John James and Republicans continue to betray us.

But now, Republicans are panicking. They know Michiganders are itching for change, and see me as a threat to their House majority, so they just rushed my GOP opponent $650,000 (!!!) to take me down.

Republicans think they can buy their way into power in Michigan, and keep extremist John James’ seat in the GOP’s hands — I won’t let that happen, but I can’t take on this fight alone. I’ll be honest, John: I’ve never run for office before.

I’m the child of immigrants who came to Michigan after escaping communism in Vietnam.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that at just 33 years old I’d be running for office in my home state, in a seat that could determine the future of our Democratic majority.

But after witnessing firsthand the damage this administration is causing, I knew I had no choice but to run for Congress, stand up against Trump’s failed agenda, flip this seat, and bring back real leadership to Michigan.

But I can’t take on the GOP alone. I’m running a grassroots campaign, and in order to compete with the GOP’s millions, I need your help!
