Folks,
Last Friday, we launched our campaign for Governor of Alabama.
The date, December 12, was no accident. It was eight years to the day Alabama elected me to the United States Senate. It was a moment of hope and unity. A moment when Alabamians proved we could put country over party and move forward together.
If you tuned in last week, you saw that spirit again. We didn’t just launch a campaign. We rekindled a belief that Alabama can do better - that our politics don’t have to divide us to work for us.
Since announcing my candidacy, I’ve laid out a clear vision for Alabama: a state lottery like the rest of the states in the South, higher wages, affordable and accessible health care, and a government that gives people more control over their lives and takes power away from insiders in Montgomery.
But I’d be less than honest if I didn’t name another reason I’m in this race: making sure Tommy Tuberville leaves public office for good. Because, simply put: Tommy Tuberville is unfit to be the Governor of Alabama.
If you’re with me and ready to stop him from doing even more damage, support my campaign for Governor today >> [ [link removed] ]
Alabamians already know how damaging Tuberville has been as a United States Senator. He blocked military promotions for nearly a year, leaving families in limbo and weakening national security. He traded stocks and futures in industries overseen by the Senate Agriculture Committee where he sits as a member. He rubber-stamped Trump’s worst nominees and backed policies that favored billionaires over working families. He endorsed tariffs that hurt Alabama farmers and raised prices. And he began his Senate career as an election denier - voting against certification even after January 6.
Today the cost of his failure is hitting home in an even more personal way: health care. Across Alabama, families are seeing premiums spike. Higher monthly costs are leading to impossible choices. This isn’t an abstract policy. It’s parents delaying doctor visits. Small business owners losing coverage they finally could afford. Seniors and rural families watching health care slip further out of reach - again.
Make no mistake folks, if you’re looking for someone to blame, look no further than Tommy Tuberville. He hasn’t been doing a damn thing to help Alabamians afford health care or groceries or rent or bills. What’s he been doing instead?
He’s leaned into “us versus them” politics, using racial dog whistles about “inner cities,” attacking SNAP recipients, refusing to clearly condemn white nationalism in the military, and stoking fear around Muslim communities and Islamic schools. That’s what he’s focusing on instead of doing anything to help Alabama.
Tuberville’s kind of politics doesn’t make Alabama stronger. It makes us smaller.
I believe in a different Alabama - one with a crowded table, where everyone has a seat: working families, farmers, veterans, small business owners, people of faith, and people who look or pray differently. Because progress only happens when everyone belongs.
What you may not know is that when he announced that he was leaving the Senate (score one for the good guys), Republican leaders in Alabama immediately fell in line, not because he is such a great candidate or Senator but simply because they knew that he has been the most loyal Trump supporter who would likely get the Trump endorsement.
If Republicans won’t stand up for what is both right and in the best interest of our Alabama, then it is up to us. Because when it comes to our health, our families, and our future - this is not a game. To Tommy Tuberville, it is. To the rest of us, it sure as hell isn’t.
The shadow of another divisive, self-serving Governor held Alabama back for decades. An era built on grievance politics, personal ambition and the deliberate use of race to divide Alabamians against each other.
Tommy Tuberville is cut from the same cloth.
Alabama has a chance to be a leader, to help heal the wounds and forge the progress that will benefit everyone.
But I can’t do it alone. I need your help. We can do it. We can stop Tommy Tuberville. Alabama can lead the way again. Are you with me? [ [link removed] ]
