We knew Donald Trump’s second term would be a nightmare. We rang that alarm as loud as we could. Sadly, his first year has been worse than even we expected.

But let's be clear: No one is coming to save us. Not the courts. Not the Democrats. Certainly not the billionaires.

The only way we get out of this mess is if enough people of goodwill join together to fight against fascism and demand the better world we know is possible.

That’s where we come in. Every day, Common Dreams covers stories and amplifies voices that the corporate media never will, to inform, inspire, and ignite change for the common good. Over the last 12 months, we don’t think we’ve done better or more important work.
