This week, the House passed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, and I was proud to support it and speak on the House floor in favor of bringing whole milk back to school cafeterias.
For years, Washington bureaucrats pushed misguided nutrition policies that limited students’ choices and removed whole milk, an option families relied on for generations, from schools. The result wasn’t healthier kids. Instead, many students turned to sugary drinks and other unhealthy alternatives, even as childhood obesity and diabetes rates continued to rise.
Whole milk is a simple, nutritious option that provides essential nutrients children need to grow, learn, and stay healthy. Parents should have a say in what their kids consume, and schools should be offering real, wholesome choices—not one-size-fits-all mandates from the federal government.

This month, the House advanced several important bills focused on lowering costs for working families, cutting Washington red tape, and standing up for Wisconsin communities. From speeding up federal permitting, to restoring balance in environmental regulation, to protecting farmers, ranchers, and pet owners, these measures reflect a commonsense approach to governing that puts people first.

Washington bureaucracy makes everything more expensive, and families feel it. Right now, it takes an average of 4.5 years for a project to get a federal permit, with over a trillion dollars stuck in the permitting process instead of being put to work. I supported the SPEED Act because it cuts through unnecessary red tape so projects can be built faster and at a lower cost. Streamlining environmental reviews doesn’t mean abandoning environmental protections, it means using common sense so energy and infrastructure projects can move forward, lower costs, and help working families here in Wisconsin and across the country.

Since the passage of the Clean Water Act, the federal permitting process has become overly burdensome and confusing, creating endless delays and inviting frivolous lawsuits that drive up costs. I voted yes on the PERMIT Act because it brings transparency, sets reasonable timelines, and gives communities a clearer voice, all while protecting clean water. This bill restores balance by ensuring environmental protections don’t become an excuse to block infrastructure and energy projects that communities need to grow and thrive.

The science is clear: gray wolves are fully recovered. In Wisconsin and across the Great Lakes region, wolf populations have far exceeded recovery goals, yet activist judges continue to override science and common sense. I supported the Pet and Livestock Protection Act because it returns wildlife management to the states, where it belongs, and protects farmers, ranchers, pets, and rural communities. This bipartisan bill recognizes conservation success and stops endless lawfare that leaves Wisconsin families paying the price.

This week marked the beginning of Hanukkah, a time to reflect on faith and the power of light over darkness.
As families gather to celebrate, we are reminded of the importance of standing up for the Jewish people and opposing hatred in all its forms. In light of the recent antisemitic attack in Sydney, Australia, we must remain clear and united in condemning antisemitism wherever it occurs. Wishing a happy and peaceful Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of the United States Space Force. Thank you to President Trump for leading with strength and foresight to create the Space Force and protect America’s interests in the next frontier. Peace through strength means staying one step ahead, and our guardians do exactly that.

Last weekend, I had the honor of attending the Daughters of the American Revolution Fond du Lac Chapter’s Wreaths Across America ceremony. While severe winter weather prevented us from laying wreaths, the day still served as a powerful reminder of our duty to remember and honor the brave men and women who served our nation. I’m grateful for the dedicated local leaders who ensure that the legacy, sacrifice, and service of our veterans are never forgotten.
