John,
When my dad worked for the FBI, the rules were so strict, and respected by
him, that he wouldn’t even stop to grab a gallon of milk on his way home
from work in his work car, let alone drop us off at school when it was
pouring rain.
Now we’ve got a podcaster running the FBI who’s using agents like his
personal Uber.
Seriously — Kash Patel reportedly ordered FBI agents to drive his
girlfriend’s drunk friend home from parties. More than once. That’s on top
of flying private jets to concerts and assigning his girlfriend a security
detail at what the right claims should be the safest place in the world
(the NRA convention).
It’s one thing to be young in power. It’s another to be reckless, corrupt,
and desperately hungry for it.
Kash Patel is 45. That’s young by D.C. standards. But this should be a
reminder: not every young person deserves to be in power.
If we don’t do the work to elect better young people — leaders who
actually give a damn about public service — we’ll keep ending up with
people like Patel calling the shots.

elect young leaders who deserve to be in power — not power-hungry creeps
like Kash Patel?
