At the end of this email, I’m going to ask you to
chip in $3 toward my re-election campaign. But before I do, please let me explain the stakes ahead of our public filing deadline.
This year has been extremely challenging. The second Trump Administration has been even more anti-worker than the first -- putting billionaires and special interests ahead of the needs of working families, shutting down the government for almost two months to block affordable healthcare, and escalating attacks on our democracy.
I understand how hopeless these times can feel. I’m proud that despite the extreme headwinds, I’ve made progress for our communities -- passing legislation to increase veteran care, delivering funding for infrastructure improvements, and ensuring public education in Illinois stays funded.
But it’s clear that there is work to be done that is impossible with the GOP House majority. Speaker Johnson is refusing to even allow a vote to protect ACA subsidies that expire before the end of the year. That’s unacceptable.
The good news is that Democrats are only three seats away from House control -- and IL-13 is critical to make it happen. And with less than 100 days until the Illinois primary, I need your support now to build the voter outreach we need to fend off my GOP challengers.
