Rep. Doug LaMalfa, whose net-worth was last recorded at over $3 million, voted against extending housing assistance in response to the coronavirus pandemic. California’s First District is among the poorest counties in California, and while the citizens he represents struggle, he is laid up in his publicly subsidized, multi-million dollar farm.
Median household income in District 1 is $55,316. Rep. LaMalfa touts being “one of us,” but he knows nothing of what it is like to be in a state of need.
Now, at a time when an unprecedented number of people are laid off and 30% of Americans missed their housing payment last month, he is voting against helping anyone but himself in this crisis.
It is unethical, and it is inhumane. We need a leader that votes for our interests -- not political points. Help Audrey, someone who really understands the life of the everyday American, get to Congress by rushing in a donation today.
