Writing to make sure you saw the news that Trump and VA Secretary Collins are eliminating 35,000 health care jobs — doctors and nurses — at the VA.
That’s after they cut 30,000 jobs already. Whatever staff are left are overworked without any hope of relief. Clinics and hospitals are understaffed. In many cases, it’s doctors and nurses working the phones because all of the administrative staff were cut.
We made a promise to Veterans — you serve us, and we will serve you. We are breaking that promise. And it’s important to be clear about why:
It’s not just because these people are evil. Not just because they’re liars, cheats, and crooks — though that’s a part of it. It’s because they don’t want the VA to exist in its current state.
They haven’t been able to figure out how to get rich off of battered Veterans yet. They want service to get worse, they want people waiting longer for worse care. They want all of that so they can justify selling off the VA to some private health care provider owned by their rich friends — and make millions off the stock trades.
We’re tired of everybody burying this story. It’s time to get loud about it. Because when these scumbags get rich, Veterans will die. The only way we can stop that is by coming together and forcing them.
