Dear Friends,
When Patrick, David, and I launched SAM on that cold day in January of 2013, in the heart of Denver, Colorado amidst growing support for marijuana legalization, we vowed to never give up educating the public and lawmakers and pushing for good policy. And today, while I am deeply disappointed in President Trump’s decision to issue an executive order encouraging the reclassification of marijuana, the move underscores the urgency of our work. (You can learn more about all of this here and our take on the Executive Order, as well as the dozens of top-tier media placements such as Washington Post, Associated Press, CNN, CNBC Squawk Box, Fox’s America’s Newsroom, Newsmax, C-SPAN Washington Journal, New York Post, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun-Times, National Review, Stat News we’ve been privileged to get this week).
That’s why I am asking for you to make sure you can attend our SAM Good Drug Policy Summit in the DC area February 5 and 6.
We will discuss this Brave New World and what it means for our work and our fight—a battle we are winning, in large part, when you look at how people are finally waking up to marijuana’s dangers. I’m honored that we will be joined by such luminaries as Dr. Mark Gold, Doug Simon from the Department of Transportation, Richard Baum formerly of ONDCP, Eagle Forum President Kristen Ullman, and so many more.
So please, lock it in and register today before prices go up. And consider sponsoring, too. Can’t wait to see you there.
In solidarity,
Kevin
