Together, we have fought bravely this year, advocating in a loud (and effective!) chorus to stop policies that hurt children at the federal, state, and local levels. 2025 brought tragedy, tumult, and duress for so many families across the US — but 2026 brings a chance to turn the tide, and we couldn’t be more fired up to make the changes we need to see at the local, state, and federal levels. The fight for public education is more critical now than ever, but this deeply important work requires investment . We knew we couldn’t achieve our 2026 goals if we didn’t do the work in 2025 — so we did the work: |
Deep canvassing: We have developed and launched an incredible deep canvassing program, starting with training lead organizers and volunteers on how to have meaningful, story-based conversations with their neighbors. Through these conversations, we are truly listening to voters, sharing stories, and collecting critical data on messaging and voter sentiment in order to craft a better way to reach voters 📋 School Board Fellowship: This year, we launched a statewide leadership development program supporting 17 newly elected school board members from Yuma to Flagstaff, Tucson to Payson, and everywhere between. We are providing training, mentorship opportunities, and support to ensure school board members have what they need to be successful and to stay in the role and serve their communities 🎓
Community and voter education: We’ve presented our K12 Education Roadshow highlighting the state of education and the devastating impact of universal vouchers to 102 groups and to over 3500 Arizona parents, educators, and community members across the state 🎉 -
Voucher Watch. We have seized the mantle as one of the nation’s most deeply informed and acknowledged experts on voucher programs, working with grassroots groups across the nation to fight back against school privatization while leading the fight here at home. We have interviewed with the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN, ProPublica, and many other publications across the state and country to shift the opinion tide against voucher programs aimed to dismantle public education 🔊

As we steer into 2026, our primary goal is to reach as many Arizonans as we can around the critical importance of fully funding public education and the dangers of the off-the-rails universal voucher program. To accomplish this critical work, we need more resources.
