Dear Friends,
I will be hosting a public forum Monday, December 22nd at 6:00 PM to discuss the ongoing cost-of-living crisis squeezing Connecticut families – from cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, to skyrocketing health care premiums, and costly tariffs. You can register HERE.
This week, House Republicans voted to advance a health care plan that does not extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits more than 100,000 Connecticut residents rely on. Four Republicans joined our effort to force a vote on a three-year extension of the credits, but Speaker Johnson sent the House home for the holidays, postponing that vote until January. Without action, some families could see their costs double.
I’ll continue to fight to lower your health care costs because no one should have to choose between the care they need and paying the rent.
Families are getting squeezed by rising costs everywhere from energy costs to grocery bills. According to the Yale Budget Lab, the average family will see $1,700 in additional costs annually thanks to Trump’s tariffs. Prices of popular holiday gifts have soared compared to last year – increasing by an average of 26%. I have a bill with some of my Democratic colleagues to end these costly tariffs now and lower costs.
I look forward to discussing these issues and hearing from you on Monday. To register for the forum, CLICK HERE.
