Greetings from all of us here at Advancing American Freedom. As the end of the year approaches, we remain steady in the fight for conservative policies that make our nation more prosperous, secure, and free. If you are considering a year-end gift to AAF or any organization, we recommend you mail it before December 29 given new rules that will take longer to get a USPS postmark. Obamacare is a Disaster Once again, Washington is poised to rescue Obamacare with taxpayer dollars — this time with Republicans joining the effort they once vowed to oppose. As I emphasized today in The Hill, pouring more money into a broken system will not fix what government intervention has already destroyed. The ACA subsidies enrich powerful incumbents, add hundreds of billions to the debt, and guarantee that a failed program never ends once it becomes politically profitable. Republicans should not help Democrats entrench this system. They must fight for a market-based alternative that restores choice, competition, and control to patients. Read the full op-ed HERE. Are Republicans Serious about Spending Cuts? While conservatives readily identify where fiscal responsibility is needed, they often falter when it comes down to practically enacting change. AAF Policy Director John Shelton and Senior Advisor Paul Teller note in their latest op-ed that this wavering has once again started to occur with the ACA subsidy cuts passed in the One Big Beautiful Bill. While many are clamoring for further funding, it is imperative that Republicans hold their ground. If we want to show the American people that we’re serious about limiting government and cutting costs the choice is simple — conservatives must let the cuts stand. Read the full op-ed HERE. RFK Jr. Must Go AAF remains focused on reestablishing a pro-life Department of Health and Human Services. Earlier this week, AAF released a memo calling for the removal of HHS Secretary RFK Jr. due to his ongoing refusal to investigate the dangers of the abortion pill mifepristone. American women and children deserve better than a leader who refuses to put their safety first, which is why we are calling for the firing of Secretary Kennedy. Life News released an article laying out our fight against RFK Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, who also continues to backtrack on promises made to ensure that women and children receive safe, pro-life care. Mayor Mamdani’s Revelation Zohran Mamdani’s recent bodega visit produced an unintended admission: New York is unaffordable because government is in the way. Calling for fewer fines, faster permits, and less red tape, the socialist mayor-elect briefly echoed the small-government truth that regulation drives up costs and strangles small businesses. However, Mamdani’s core policy agenda exhibits the exact opposite of his revelation — and New York will only suffer if he continues to push for big government solutions that won’t solve the problem. Family Policy Depends on Cultural Revival A draft policy proposal by The Heritage Foundation calls for a massive expansion of federal entitlements which would abandon core conservative principles. As AAF Policy Director John Shelton and Senior Fellow Joel Griffith explain, the crisis of decay in marriage, faith, and community can’t be solved through further government spending, only cultural renewal and a return to our first principles. As first reported in the Daily Signal, AAF is standing strong against calls to pass any ACA bill that would allow for loophole-funded abortion. As it stands today, 25 states (and D.C.) permit ACA plans to cover such procedures. As Republicans continue battling in Congress over COVID-era extensions, they must remember not to abandon their pro-life priorities. Read the full op-ed HERE. Short: Republicans Can’t become Democrat-Lite AAF Chairman Marc Short appeared on C-SPAN’s Ceasefire this past weekend to discuss a myriad of issues. At the top of the list were the 2026 midterms, where Republicans must focus on free-trade policies that lead to American prosperity — not buying stakes in private companies or increasing government involvement. Virginians Deserve Better than Meador Virginia Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger’s decision to elevate the former head of the FBI’s Richmond field office—the same office that produced the infamous memo targeting “traditionalist Catholics” as potentially threatening extremists—reveals just how hollow her claims of moderation truly are. Appointing Mr. Meador sends a clear message to Virginians: anti-Catholic and anti-Christian rhetoric is acceptable and tolerated. Spanberger’s constituents must be prepared to defend their liberties and stand up for their religious freedom. Read the full op-ed HERE. Are You Considering a Year End Gift?
