RSVP: 2025 Member Gratitude Celebration

2025 has been a year of transformation, and through it all, Color Of Change members have continued to rise. Together, we’ve organized, spoken truth to power, and made real change in the face of challenges that tried to silence us.

This year, we’re marking something special, 20 years of building power for Black people and winning lasting change. From campaigns that have reshaped culture to moments that have strengthened our movement, none of it would be possible without you.

Join us for our Virtual Gratitude Celebration; a nationwide gathering to honor the members, partners, and supporters who have made two decades of impact possible. Together, we’ll reflect on how far we have come, celebrate our collective victories, and look ahead to the powerful work still to come.

Announcement: Nadine Smith, nationally renowned civil rights leader, to join Color Of Change as President and CEO

Nadine Smith is a nationally recognized civil rights leader whose three decades of strategic advocacy have reshaped the fight for racial, gender, and LGBTQ+ equality. She has built durable movements, driven policy change, and secured landmark protections in some of the most hostile political climates in the country.

I’m excited to join this exceptional team and help lead the movement when it matters most. As forces work to silence Black voices, erase our history, and dismantle multiracial democracy, we need an organization that can mobilize millions of people to action — not just once, but consistently, strategically, powerfully. This is the moment Color Of Change was built for and building Black political power is how we win. - Nadine Smith

Known for her clear-eyed political strategy, she has taken on entrenched corporate interests and the extremists who turned Florida into a proving ground for Project 2025. Her record shows a leader who does not back down, who understands power, and who knows how to win high-stakes fights when the odds are stacked.

In her role leading Color Of Change, Nadine brings a journalist’s eye for truth, a strategist’s understanding of power, and a lifelong commitment to expanding the circle of belonging. Her vision honors Color Of Change’s extraordinary foundation while expanding its reach. She understands that racial justice, economic equity, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ+ liberation are not separate causes but one fight for human dignity and collective freedom. We could not be more excited about the future of Color Of Change with Nadine at the helm.

Take Action: Join Color Of Change and tell Congress and your Attorney General to fight back!

For years, Color Of Change has fought to stop AI systems from discriminating against Black communities — algorithms that underpay Black gig workers, facial recognition that misidentifies Black people, and AI that denies us jobs and loans. We've picked these battles at the state level because states can act faster than Congress. Our Black Tech Agenda tells states how they can protect Black communities.

States have passed laws to protect children from harmful AI, stop discriminatory hiring algorithms, and require transparency. This is why Big Tech and Trump are working together: to make sure no one can stop them from profiting off discrimination.

Trump cannot legally stop states from enforcing their AI laws. Only Congress has that power, and Congress already rejected preemption. But he can try to bully states with expensive lawsuits, threats of funding cuts, and legal uncertainty. We cannot let him win.

Power our campaigns and organizing work

Color Of Change works to uplift Black joy and demand racial justice 365 days of the year. As we continue to work to build independent Black political power, your donations make all the difference and allow us to focus on the type of work that will transform lives and move our society forward. Twenty years of wins have taught us something simple and profound: when Black people are organized, resourced, and united, we change what is possible in this country. 2026 will test that truth — and with your help, Color Of Change will meet that test at full power. Please make your most generous gift before December 31 to show that this membership is ready for the fight ahead.
