John,
We officially kicked off our campaign in Edinburg, and the energy on the ground is palpable.
I’m the son of a migrant farmworker, Roberto Pulido, a man who, through hard work, humility, and the grace of God, became a pioneer in Tejano music and lifted his entire family out of poverty. I’m also the son of a strong Tejana woman–a woman who held our family together and taught me dignity, resilience, and never letting anyone forget where we come from.
My family and upbringing are not all that different from those who live right here in South Texas. I’m running for them.
Because now things feel different. Opportunities are harder to come by, and the obstacles are more difficult to overcome. It’s clear that the political system is broken: it keeps working people struggling while the powerful get richer.
We deserve leaders who fight for us, not for the highest bidders. In Congress, I’ll be your vote and South Texas’s voice.
But we’re coming up on our last FEC quarterly deadline of the new year, and we need to finish strong. If you’re with me, I hope you’ll chip in $10 or whatever makes sense to you, to show Republicans in Texas we have what it takes to win this race next year.
