It was a busy week on the Hill, with many votes and meetings taking place.

I continue to fight for affordable prices, access to quality healthcare, and stronger support for families and communities across Illinois’ Second District.

Healthcare Should Be Affordable

I am beyond frustrated that Congress failed to act to protect affordable healthcare. Millions of Americans, including 15,000 people in our district, will see their monthly health insurance bill rise next year because of the expiration of the ACA tax credits. 

One of our neighbors will see her monthly healthcare bill triple, as is the reality for far too many Americans. Healthcare isn’t a political issue. No one should have to choose between insurance, groceries, housing, or other basic necessities.

These past few months, I have had the pleasure of serving the Second District with the help of several wonderful interns in my DC and District offices. I want to express my gratitude for their hard work. The futures of these young leaders are bright, and I know they will go on to do great things.
