BREAKING: House Republicans just voted to delist gray wolves from the Endangered Species Act.
Not because scientists recommended it. Not because they’re any less endangered. But because politicians decided they knew better than scientists.
This vote puts gray wolves at serious risk and sets a dangerous precedent for other endangered or threatened species. If Congress can strip protections from wolves today, they can ignore science and roll back protections for any species tomorrow.
For decades, wildlife experts have been clear that gray wolves still need federal protections to survive. Instead of listening to scientists, House Republicans just voted to unilaterally override these experts and handed control to politicians and special interests.
The Endangered Species Act has saved hundreds of species from extinction. It works because it is grounded in science, not politics. If we do not push back now, these attacks will only accelerate.
