NFL Players champion IJM during My Cause My Cleats

This year, players Hunter Henry, Dillon Radunz and Matthew Orzech honored Daniel—a survivor of forced child labor in Ghana— by wearing cleats featuring his custom artwork, symbolizing his courageous journey to freedom.

For more than two decades, Appa Rao was trapped in bonded labor—far from home and family. In March 2025, IJM and local authorities rescued him and arrested his trafficker. Months later, a viral video helped reunite Appa Rao with his daughter. Today, they cherish the simple joys slavery stole: sharing tea, family meals and laughter.

November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Around the world, one in three women have experienced partner or sexual violence during their lifetime. But behind this number are real women and girls who are raising from unimaginable pain to become powerful advocates from change.

"Not having trauma-informed attention is like not having justice at all."

In Guatemala, 128 cases of violence against women and children are reported daily. While access to the justice system is critical, how victims are treated within this system is just as important. To address this, IJM and partners develop a national trauma-informed care course. At the launch event, survivor leader Tati Navas shared her powerful testimony, highlighting the importance of a trauma-informed approach.
