Serving in the Indiana Senate for nearly 10 years has been a tremendous honor. I am deeply grateful to all Hoosiers, especially those of you in Senate District 17, who placed trust in me and to my colleagues with whom I have worked with over the years to advance meaningful policy for our state.
With my new appointment as Chair of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, I will be resigning from the Indiana Senate as required by this new role. My last day of service will be Jan. 8, 2026. This transition allows me to continue serving Hoosiers across Indiana in a new capacity while remaining focused on issues critical to the future of our state.
Representing Senate District 17 has been a privilege, and serving as a voice for the families, businesses and communities in northeast Indiana has been among the most meaningful aspects of my time in the General Assembly.
I am proud of the work I accomplished during my time in the Senate and am grateful for the dedicated staff, state agencies and community leaders who helped make this progress possible. While my role as a public servant is changing, my commitment to serving Hoosiers remains the same.
I look forward to beginning this next chapter and working alongside fellow commissioners, stakeholders and others to ensure Indiana's utility system continues to meet the needs of families, businesses and communities across the state.
