First and foremost, serving YOU is my top job. This year, my office helped resolve 1,020 constituent cases and returned $1,513,876.15 directly to folks who were owed money from the federal government. We sent 7,910 responses to constituents and showed up at 1,482 community events across the district!
As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I spent this year fighting for Texas energy and the jobs that come with it. Just a couple of weeks ago, I hosted an Energy and Commerce tour right here in the district, bringing members from other states to see firsthand what our ports, our refineries, and the infrastructure do to keep this country running. Texas’ 14th helps power the whole nation, and it was important they see that up close and in person.
Thanks to the Trump administration’s renewed focus on American energy, that work paid off. The Department of Energy moved forward with a solicitation to purchase one million barrels of crude oil for delivery to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve at the Bryan Mound site, which is located in Brazoria County, strengthening our national energy security while supporting local jobs. On top of that, Texas 14th companies were awarded federal contracts, including Dyno Oil Electric LLC in Kemah and Callan Marine Limited in Galveston.
We also delivered where Texas has been ignored for far too long: the border. In the One Big Beautiful Bill, we secured border reimbursement funding, finally ensuring Texas isn’t left holding the bag for doing the federal government’s job. Texas stepped up when Washington failed, and now we’re getting reimbursed for it. That’s a win for Texas taxpayers, plain and simple.
On the legislative side, I introduced 15 bills, cosponsored 393 pieces of legislation, and kept a nearly 99% voting record on the House floor. Two of my bills passed out of committee this year:
I was also proud to see language from my Bring the Space Shuttle Home Act included in the One Big Beautiful Bill, keeping America leading in space and innovation.
I’m also proud of the values we stood on this year. I earned an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and a 100 score from Americans for Prosperity, because I believe in protecting life, keeping the government accountable, and letting Texans keep more of what they earn.
At the end of the day, every vote, every meeting, and every mile traveled this year was about one thing:
Delivering for Texas’ 14th.
My Beautiful Bride, Brenda Gail and I are looking forward to keeping this momentum going and continuing to fight for you in the year ahead.
