Trump is enraged that Colorado won't release Tina Peters: the former clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, serving nine years in state prison for voting machine tampering during the 2020 election.

That’s why I am blocking the government funding bill from moving forward until NCAR is fully funded and this reckless decision is reversed.

Let me be clear: Under no circumstances should Tina Peters be released to Donald Trump and his corrupt Department of Justice.

She committed a crime and was found guilty by a jury of her peers.

At this truly unprecedented time in Colorado's history, we will not solve our greatest challenges by giving in to Trump’s reckless agenda. Our state needs a leader who will stand up to Donald Trump.

So my vow to you today is that as Colorado's next governor, I will fight these politically motivated attacks on our state every step of the way. I will stop at nothing to make our state an example of how to best fight back against Trump's reckless, power-hungry extremism.
