Hi there, serving in the United States Army was one of the greatest honors of my life. I’ve never forgotten the creed I lived by when I served as an Army Ranger:

“My country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other.”

“I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be, 100% and then some.”

“Under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.”

My service taught me a lot about respect, working under pressure, and the value of selfless service to others.

As a leader, it was on me to set an example — to be the last one to eat, the first one to jump out of the plane, and model the behavior I expected from others.

Right now, our president is the antithesis of this creed. He’s called for members of Congress — including me — to be imprisoned and killed, all for speaking out about his extremism.

He’s weaponizing the FBI against me, launching bogus federal inquiries against those who are putting the oaths we swore to the Constitution over the whims of this president.

I signed up to serve to protect our rights and freedoms. I ran for office to make a difference in people’s lives. Now more than ever, it’s clear: we need more leaders who are ready to do the hard work to defend the rule of law against all odds.
