John, did you know that on this day, December 19, almost 250 years ago George Washington's army arrived at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War – right here in Pennsylvania's 6th District?

Many consider Valley Forge to be the birthplace of the American Army, with concepts of basic training and distinctive branches originating here. Today, we know this area as Valley Forge National Historical Park, which consists of 3,500 acres of green spaces, historic structures, and monuments. 

But as you read this, national parks like Valley Forge are at risk.  

Trump and his GOP allies in Congress have recklessly and dangerously GUTTED FUNDING for national parks, forests, and our public lands. Public parks like Valley Forge are a national treasure, John – and it's up to us to protect them.
