This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because Texas Majority PAC and the Texas Democratic Party launched the Blue Texas program with a simple belief: you can’t win elections if you don’t even try.
For decades, Texas Democrats left roughly fifty seats uncontested every cycle. That meant millions of Texans never even had the option to vote Democratic down the ballot.
Republicans got free passes. Extremism went unchecked. Power calcified.
Not anymore.
This cycle, we recruited 104 candidates to run everywhere Republicans thought they were untouchable. Working alongside leaders like Beto O’Rourke and Wendy Davis, we made sure no district was written off and no voter was ignored.
And here’s the part they don’t want you to remember: in 2018, even with twenty uncontested seats, Democrats still flipped two congressional seats and twelve seats in the Texas House. Now imagine what happens when we contest all of them.
That’s why Republicans are nervous. That’s why the attacks are coming. And that’s why this moment matters so much.
Filling the ballot is step one. Competing — and winning — is step two. And that takes resources. Every candidate we recruited needs support to introduce themselves, organize voters, and make the case that Republican government has failed Texas families.
